Set in the heart of Cardiff’s historic Bay, the Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay Run is a flat, fast and friendly event for all ages and abilities. The popular race, which attracts some of the UK’s top athletes, boasts a stunning course around Cardiff Bay.
The route takes in all of Cardiff Bay’s most iconic landmarks, starting and finishing in Roald Dahl Plass and passing the Wales Millennium Centre, Mermaid Quay, the Pierhead Building, Senedd, Porth Teigr and the Cardiff Bay Barrage.
It’s a perfect challenge for elite and club athletes as well as those looking to keep fit, raise money for charity or take on their first 10K!
With no pressure to set record times or run all the way around, whether you take part in the fun run or 10K, join in and put a spring in your step.
A series of Junior Races give budding athletes and families the chance to absorb the race day atmosphere, with fancy dress very much encouraged.
The event forms part of the R4W 10K Series – made up of 10K races in Newport, Cardiff Bay, Porthcawl and Cardiff City Centre.
A 2025 date is not yet set for the Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay 10K. Discussions are ongoing with Cardiff City Council around the feasibility of a 10K route whilst development work takes place in preparation for a new indoor arena and tram line.
Registration for the other events in our 10K Series are now open. Click here to sign up or find out more about the races in Cardiff, Newport and Porthcawl. If the Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay 10K is launched at a later date for 2025, participants will be able to access equivalent entry discounts to those offered for the launch of the 10K Series.
