Brecon Carreg Embrace Plogging

To celebrate three years of Brecon Carreg as the title partner of the Cardiff Bay Run, national water suppliers Brecon Carreg are challenging our runners to ‘plog’ on Sunday 26 September.

What is plogging? Plogging is a basic combination of jogging and picking up litter – and Brecon Carreg  are proud to have their own plogging team at the Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay Run this month!

The team at Brecon Carreg have been recruiting for a plogging team and have offered complimentary spots for the 10K race, where runners will be able to complete the scenic route around Cardiff Bay while picking up recycling. Ploggers will be helping to reduce event litter, all while helping to make a positive impact on Cardiff Bay.

The plogging campaign this year is supported by Keep Wales Tidy, who helped to promote the spaces and are committed to protecting the environment in Wales.

Both R4W and Brecon Carreg are devoted to sustainability. Our title partners, Brecon Carreg, are committed to environmental changes by 2025, including introducing 100% recyclable and 100% recycled packaging, using 15% less plastic packaging and working with leaders across the industry to come up with viable solutions to the plastic problem.

Eleri Morgan, Brecon Carreg Brand Manager commented, “Having worked with R4W for a number of years, we quickly recognised that the passion and strive for sustainability that we have at Brecon Carreg is a shared one. I’m confident that the ploggers at this year’s Cardiff Bay Run will have an extremely positive impact on recycling rates at the event. We’re very excited to see the return of running events here in Wales and can’t wait to feel the buzz at the start line!”

The team at R4W have been doing lots of work to ensure low-impact events on the environment, set out in the Green Action Plan to provide greener and more sustainable mass participation events.
